There is a peculiar tradition: all ballet dancers and choreographers, who visit San Michele’s cemetery (Venice), leave their pointe shoes on the grave of Sergei Dyaghilev (Diagilev), great Russian ballet impresario and founder of the legendary Ballets Russes in Paris. So, you can find dozens of ballet shoes there in every time of year.
